Most of the market system is done but there's still a few things left to do. At this time, the system is on hold so that we can work on some more important things... like classes!
Last week Asomli mentioned some of the class-based stuff we're working on. I'd like to elaborate a bit on it so you all get a better idea of what to expect.
Custom Classes
Thanks to the developers over at NWNX (www.nwnx.org) we are able to deliver custom classes without the need for players to place files in their override folder. This makes joining and playing as easy as possible. Because of this, classes and leveling are handled differently.
Class List
Five classes will be available for play at launch. We are sticking to a small number so that we can properly balance each one of them. Once that has been done you can expect more to come.
Here are the classes that will be available to all players:
Soldier
Soldiers don heavy armor and jump into melee using all sorts of weaponry. They hold unique abilities to keep a monster's attention so that their allies don't take the heat.
Martial Artist
Martial Artists use their fists as their weapon. They are capable of dealing heavy damage to enemies but can't take too much themselves.
Cybernetic-Technician
Cybernetic-Technicians are known for their ability to harness raw cybernetic energy. Using that energy, they are capable of unleashing deadly cybernetics on their foes.
Gunslinger
Gunslingers prefer to shoot their targets from afar rather than jump headfirst into melee range. In addition to support fire, Gunslingers also have limited healing cybernetics.
Doctor
Doctors rely on cybernetics to aid their allies. They possess various healing and beneficial buffs to boost the party's strength.
These descriptions give a very broad overview of what each class is capable of doing.
Stay tuned for part two next week!
