Hey. I've just been checking out the server some and stumbled across a few things I thought was annoying.
The guards in the city sometimes block the little pathways so you can't go anywhere and are forced to wait until they randomly walk out of the way again. I got so frustrated that I attacked them and found another thing you might wanna look at.
When they killed me and I respawned they were still hostile to me so they basically killed me every time I respawned and I couldn't go anywhere.
The last thing I noticed when exploring the jungle was the fact that all the hostile creatures could see me the moment I entered the area, even if they were far far away and not even visible on my screen. They just charged right at me when I entered the area.

Ack! I thought I fixed the hostile thing. I'll go take a look at that now. The guards are set to randomly walk so I can see that happening. I'll set them on a predetermined path - should fix that. It's just the wolves that saw you, right? Thanks for the suggestions! What did you think about the server as a whole? Any changes needed to be made (aside from more content, of course

Yeah it was just the wolves, I didn't encounter any other hostile creatures before leaving. So if those wolves are meant to see you right away and other hostile creatures don't, then just ignore that last bit I though it looked interesting, the whole skill development is awesome. I've played a lot of Morrowind and Oblivion, and I really liked the way your character improved in those games. I'm just wondering. How many skills can one character get? And will some skills level more slowly because you've been leveling in other skills? Another suggestion: Maybe give new character a bit more gold so they can buy their weapon of choise, or perhaps just enough to buy something better than a shortsword. Oh and a sci-fi starting uniform would be awesome instead of the standard nwn starting outfit. Or just a clothingshop in the starting area so you can get into the whole sci-fi mood.

All characters can level up every single skill to the max if they wanted to... but keep in mind that would take a LONG time. Leveling other skills doesn't slow down progression in other areas. The rate you level skills differs but typically the amount of experience you get is determined by how challenging the activity was. So for example, if you have level 30 in Handguns and kill an enemy in the Jungles you won't get any experience because you had the clear advantage. I'll up the starting gold and create a Zheckshan Jumpsuit or something If you haven't already - press R when you get in game. It'll open the main menu and you can look under FAQ for some important information about AMPs and other stuff. Let me know if it helps or doesn't help you.

Yeah I've already read all the information when pressing 'R'. Something like a jumpsuit was exactly whatI had in mind I forgot something before. The blueprints for items. Do they tell you what you need to get after you've bought them? Because when I examine them in the shop I can't see what items I need to create the stuff and I didn't have the gold to try and buy them.

The blueprints don't have descriptions yet because I'm still changing the components needed to make each item. It's all set up in a database so if I change it there, I have to go and edit the actual item itself... it's a long and tedious process. So for now the only way to see what items are needed is to drop it in the correct terminal. It's a pain, I know, but bear with me!

I think maybe a starting area that is OOC would be a good idea so you aren't thrown into it so suddenly. Perhaps add a customizing model so you can choose from the modern heads(I can't when I try to start a new character). I don't know what you are working on right now but maybe finishing the inn/bar soon might be a good idea so you can give the players who decides to try out your server a place to sit and roleplay between their adventures in the jungle. But I'm just saying what comes to my mind so don't let me mess up your plans.

Hehe, no I welcome all suggestions. The bar is actually going to be renovated into a Hunter's Lodge where players can go and pick up generic quests and missions. (E.G: Go and fetch me 5 Windray Wings) The more detailed missions will be given out by unique NPCs in town. These will consist of doing more dangerous tasks like escorting NPCs, exploring Solarian facilities and so on. These types of quests will have a storyline that goes along with them so that players can learn more about the world. And yes, there will be places to RP in the Hunter's Lodge

That sounds awesome.
Did you advertise for this server on Ye Olde Tavern on the Bioware website, or did you only advertise in the module section?

I'm holding off on advertising until more content gets in game. It's all playable but I don't want to bring in people who will get bored of manufacturing and the limited combat content ><
After the Hunter's Lodge is in, I'll probably make a post there.

And as soon as he sends me a base area for the lodge, I'll make it.

Yeah I was about to suggest that as well. You'll want the new players to have something that will make them stick around.
Good luck on the building.
Do you have any estimated date for when you feel ready to officially launch the server?

Officially, it's launched I don't want to put any strict deadlines on it yet, but I'm hoping that sometime next week I can start advertising on NWN forums and the vault. Possibly the 25th-26th? fehrin: I'll post the base mod on these forums when I get the chance to make it.
